We Are Awesome!
Today we celebrated the end of our hero inquiry with a hero parade. All the children dressed as a hero - some as super heroes, others as everyday heroes. As a way of saying thank you to Flatman children brought along food donations that we have given to Flatman to share with Christchurch families who are not as lucky as us. We paraded in front of the school and we all danced together. After morning tea the senior children took us for sports games at English Park. They even dressed up and we loved having the big kids teach us new, fun games. At lunchtime we all sat together on the back field and had hot chips and sauce. After lunch we met in Room 16 to hear what we would do for discovery time. We all had fun icing biscuits, dressing up, constructing, playing hero games and generally having a super time! Whew - the heroes will be tired tonight!

Miss Falkner is getting married!
Today we all celebrated with Miss Falkner. It was her last day at school before she gets married to Steve. She will be a beautiful bride.
Giving directions
In maths we have been talking about how to give accurate directions. We have made a word bank of direction words to help us explain where we are or where we need to go. Can you think of some different ways to explain where the children are in the photos?
